An internal combustion engine relies on a combination of air and fuel to make it fully operational; too much of either and its efficiency is negated and it cannot run as it should. The fuel injector is the component that does exactly what its name suggests – it controls the amount of fuel that is injected into the engine and stops it from escaping. The engine control unit (ECU) manages the levels of air and fuel in the engine and initiates the injector accordingly so that, when the accelerator is pressed, the necessary amount of fuel can be allowed in. When the injector begins to deteriorate, it becomes less efficient in regulating the flow of fuel, which means that the whole engine becomes less efficient and the health of the car suffers in the long run. Consult a mechanic to check the condition of your fuel injector and ask them to replace it for you once you have found the necessary replacement with Car Parts 4 Less.
